Randomation is a fine arts animation generator that was created to explore the realities found at the edge of perceptual consciousness. The Randomation project has two distinct parts: its random animation generator and its richly illustrated hypertext documentation.
A random algorithm produces a seemingly infinite sequence of illusionary compositions, similar to the work of constructive artists. The hypertext documentation explores the genesis of the project, its historical and artistic context, the visual vocabulary of its compositions and possible theoretical implications of "the Randomation experience."
