A WELL BEHAVED UI DOESN'T HAVE TO REINVENT THE WHEEL. These sketches of pop-up menus for the open source Pandora OS are a good example of this notion. The graphic design of common interface elements, such as pop-up menus, may vary based on the desired look and feel of a project. However, the behavior of those elements must remain consistent and predictable. The top three illustrations highlight three states of a pop-up menu: default, mousedown, and selected. The bottom left figures show two alternate looks within a similar graphic feel.
